What Clients Say

“Susie has been hugely instrumental in me finding clarity on what I want to do in my professional life and what my calling is. She listens so well and offers a sensitive observation of one’s own values, truths, inhibiting beliefs and where slight tweaks to perspective can unlock progress.

Over the past year we have built an invaluable relationship, whereby Susie knows me well enough to challenge me and highlight patterns and triggers that I need to work with, let go of or work through. I have found her support massively beneficial in my personal life also and have set up another set of sessions to support me in transition to a new job. I recommend her to anyone seeking more clarity, confidence and authenticity in their lives.”

Isabel Ross

“I must admit that before I started coaching with Susie, I wasn’t sure that coaching would be for me. But I was at a crossroads and needed help. I’d just left an intense job after a long while, and was struggling to figure out what was next and how to find better balance in my life. Susie was an absolute pleasure to work with. She has a calm manner that makes it feel like you’re just chatting with a friend, but yet gets you to real insights and actions in each conversation.

She was particularly good at making me aware of, and helping me to better control, my inner ‘self-editor’ that would rule out options because of pre-conceived notions. Her coaching helped me hone in on what really matters to me in work and life, and choose a new career path that’s a much better fit.”

Karen Licurse

“Susie has brought an unexpected but wonderful new perspective to my life. Stuck in a rut having spent years making sure everyone else was ok following a difficult turn of events, I’d forgotten myself and lost sight of who I was and what I want and need from life. I knew things had to change to restore my balance and happiness around my family and busy job, but I had no idea how to make it happen – this was a difficult place to be in. I was afraid of stepping out, but more afraid of staying stuck.

A good friend suggested I talk to a life coach. I’m an independent person that finds it hard to admit I need help, so I was sceptical. When doing some research, I came across Susie’s website and something struck a chord, so I picked up the phone. and I’m so very glad that I did.

Susie has a very calming and reassuring manner that encourages you to open up even when talking about the most difficult situations and feelings. Very quickly she understood me, from what makes me tick to what makes me uncomfortable, it was incredible. She has helped me understand myself again and challenges me to explore my reactions and emotions and turn them into something positive and empowering. I now often find myself channelling my ‘inner Susie’ and using this to deal with whatever life throws at me!

The results have been, quite literally, life changing. Emotionally, she’s helped me think differently about things that have been weighing me down, allowing me to let go of a painful past and focus on the future positives and possibilities.  At work, she’s reignited my self-belief and confidence, I’m once again thinking about where I want my career to go, rather than simply surviving day to day. And, I’ve rediscovered my mojo – I’m now doing the things that I’ve wanted to do but until now, have been too cautious to embrace.

In a nutshell, Susie has helped me bring out my inner Wonder Woman – and, most importantly, in a way that has allowed me to stay true to myself and my values.”

“When I came to coaching, I was at a pivotal point in my career, as I knew I needed to leave the business which I’d invested my time, heart, soul and money into, but I didn’t know how to be brave enough to move on. I was scared and fearful, as I’d been with the same organisation for 18 years, so leaving felt huge and I wasn’t even sure what I could/would/should do.

As soon as I started working with Susie, I simply knew that ‘it was going to be OK’, whatever ‘it’ was. I realise now that I needed to be asked the right questions, do the right thinking and be supported to move in the right direction – which is what I did. I have achieved what I set out to achieve with my new business (although that book inside me is still calling!).

I am a coach myself, so I was a little sceptical at first, but honestly it was the best investment I made in my transition. Susie was gentle but deliberate, patient and challenging. We’ve never met face to face, but I feel like I know her as a friend and when we meet, there will be a big hug at the end.”

Sam Ellis

“Coaching with Susie is a breath of fresh air. As a self-employed woman of a certain age who works 6 or 7 days a week and cares for a disabled husband, the pressure is often suffocating. I was so stuck ‘busily doing’ I had no time to even consider how I was feeling, or what I wanted.

I admit that carving out time for coaching, at first, felt impossible, but I have come to gasp for the space, time and perspective it gives me. Having an hour to focus on ME has been transformational. I have realised that I am doing OK – in fact, more than OK. Susie helps me see – and acknowledge – my achievements and the big and little ‘wins’ I tended to brush past on my way to the next task. I feel more confident, capable and inspired as a result.

Susie is calm, empowering, and empathetic. Her highly intuitive nature, combined with her experience in business and as a mother, gives her a unique and wonderful quality I trust beyond measure. I’m excited now to work with Susie to breathe new vitality into my dreams, goals and desires in the other areas of my life.”

“I wanted to find a coach because I felt stuck. Stuck in my personal and professional life. I didn’t feel like I had any clarity anywhere. I had previously used a coach locally, which hadn’t worked for me, so I was a little hesitant, but knew if I found the right person, I would want a much longer coaching relationship with them. I have found that with Susie.

I really look forward to our sessions and find having my hour once a fortnight very therapeutic. It gives me time to breathe, reflect on how far I’ve come and where I want to be heading. I think the value is far greater for me personally and professionally than I thought it would be. It gives me a regular check-in with myself.

Susie’s style is a fantastic fit for me. I feel incredibly comfortable with her and find it very easy to say whatever I feel.  I feel stretched as well as gently held and she has the perfect way of asking the right questions and allowing me to grow through finding the answers within. She often asks hard questions, quietly observes, makes suggestions and gently guides me, and at the same time holds me accountable.

Susie is empathetic and truly listens to the subtle messages that are already there that I may not have been aware of. She has a gift at seeing the bigger picture and the blocks you may have, as well as helping you see the insights and lessons learnt along the way.

I now feel excited about myself in the true sense of the word. I feel that everything is coming together that has always been there, but now I can see things far more clearly. I have a clear understanding of my values, my passions and my vision, as well as what I want to accomplish. My future is one of excitement and creativity. It’s all in my grasp and I feel that anything is possible now!”

Rachel Stacey-McKay

“I was introduced to Susie after taking redundancy during the Covid pandemic. I was making a big change in my life, had some ideas but felt daunted as to how to move forward, especially with the constraints we were living with. Susie was recommended to me as someone who could help and the first time we spoke I felt an instant connection, just like talking with a friend.

Spending time with Susie was spending time on me, not something I’d ever prioritised. This really helped me confirm what’s important to me, what isn’t and to re-connect with my passions and values which had been stifled and no longer aligned with my work in the preceding years. Susie helped me make connections, remove my blind spots and see everything much more clearly. She also shone a light on my achievements and progress which was hugely motivating.

Susie genuinely cares about helping you be the best you can be. She’s empathetic, professional and a great listener who’s been with me on my journey, supporting me through the ups and the downs so I never felt alone. As a result, I feel inspired and energised with a newfound sense of peace, confidence and excitement about my future. If you’re wanting to change what do you with your life I’d highly recommend spending time with Susie.”

Nicky Whitfield

“I came to coaching because I was uninspired about my future. The combination of my work life and family pressures were at times overwhelming. I felt weighed down and exhausted, not knowing what might reenergise me and instil new meaning for me. Having struggled with this for some time without making any headway, I knew I was stuck and needed help. I feel so fortunate that I was recommended to Susie.

Susie helped me face my self-defeating and deprecating demons in a very patient, supportive and structured way. I knew I had to rise to the challenges Susie presented, which called for introspection that I found tough.  There were times when I needed to look more deeply into a task than I had at the first attempt. Doing so helped deepen the insight to be drawn from the exercises, leading me to see a variety of paths ahead to choose from.

The lessons absorbed from Susie have given me the power to revitalise my life. It is a work in progress but I feel enlightened and far more hopeful than before. I have learnt what it means to show kindness to myself as I do to others. Susie’s coaching talents are impressive and I will strive to follow her example every day.”

“I sought Susie’s help to overcome a few challenges I was facing in my life, including my career, and a few other areas. Not only I felt overwhelmed by these issues, but I was feeling incapable of “sorting” them out somehow. And that really knocked my confidence. I was often in tears or feeling negative about my life which really went against my natural disposition of being happy and positive. I knew I was living a very small existence, that I wasn’t fulfilled, even if on the surface everything seemed fine.

A few weeks in, and I don’t recognise my old life. Susie has taken me on a truly inspiring journey of self-discovery. I learned aspects of myself that I didn’t know existed. With Susie’s help I’ve worked on my resilience and inner strength. She’s taught me practical tools for me to use when I find myself in difficulty again, let’s face it life isn’t a smooth journey! My confidence has been boosted massively since starting our sessions, and I now feel that whatever life throws at me I’d be able to rise above it and become better and better at overcoming obstacles.

I love Susie’s way of coaching, she’s gentle but knows when to push or challenge you. This comes from her incredible sense of intuition and emotional intelligence. She encourages and champions me, and I feel very safe in her hands. Having said that she’s a truly talented coach and if she needs to be tough on you, she will! It’s her genuine desire for her clients to lead more fulfilled lives that really drives Susie. She’s experienced and a genuinely lovely person. I couldn’t ask for a better coach.”

Sara Whitehead

“I had been juggling work and caring for some years and wanted to make a change, but couldn’t articulate what I was looking for. It was hard to see beyond the real (and imagined) constraints of needing flexible work that paid the bills.

Working with Susie allowed me to step back and reflect on my strengths, experiences and interests. But most importantly, she helped me identify my values so that when the opportunity came to make a big decision, I was much more confident about what was right for me. Now I’m able to do work I love while managing my caring role in a way that suits me.

Susie was brilliant to work with, I appreciated her flexibility in creating a coaching plan that suited my situation. She made it safe to be totally honest, and helped me rediscover not just my love of work but other aspects of life that are important and had got just a bit “lost” during some difficult years.”

Sarah Jones

“Before I started coaching with Susie I was going round in circles and feeling really frustrated – I wasn’t enjoying life to the full, but I lacked the direction and confidence to do anything about it. I had got myself into a kind of paralysis. I was sick of hearing myself moaning about my situation but not doing anything about it. Looking back, I probably thought doing nothing was less scary than failing at something.

The biggest change I’ve noticed since working with Susie is that I have renewed self-belief and feel much more like my old much more confident self. I am kinder to myself and less self-critical. I no longer fester or take things so personally. I can literally laugh now at things that used to drive me mad.

I am also much better at living in the moment. I now focus on what is important to me and my wellbeing and have jettisoned the other stuff. Where that has not been entirely possible, with Susie’s guidance I’ve been able to set in place some effective coping strategies for difficult people and situations.

Coaching with Susie is like watching yourself from above. Sometimes we just can’t see the wood for the trees. I now see myself for the confident and capable woman I am, with lots still to offer the world and the people around me. I feel ready to give things a go. To get out there again. I feel optimistic and really rather excited at the thought of where I may end up.”

“If you are interested in coaching and are considering a career change, then I would recommend working with Susie. I wanted to focus on a better work life balance, as I was feeling quite lost, needing direction and not fully in control of a lot of things.

Initially, I was a bit concerned about exploring this avenue. I lead a busy life as a working mum and time to focus on myself is not often something I afford myself. I was also a little concerned by the cost of ‘investing in me’, not just from a time point of view but financially too. I need not have worried.

Having completed my sessions with Susie, I am much more focused on recognising the things I can control, as opposed to worrying tirelessly and trying to change things that ultimately I know I can’t. I have a more positive mindset and am more aware of how to manage my emotions. I have more in my armoury to deal with life.

I’m also a lot more self-aware. I recognise that I need to look after myself if I’m to successfully look after those around me. To be the best I can be means prioritising time for me and this has been a real shift. It was also a fantastic opportunity to recognise all the wonderful things in my life that I knew were there, but had never really taken a step back to acknowledge.

Coaching with Susie feels like a ‘safe place’ and you can be open and honest, as she listens without judgement. She is brilliant at playing back to you ‘what she is hearing’, which may not be what you think you are saying. I loved the sense of being on a journey together and not feeling like you’re on your own – and I love that I can reach out to her as and when I may need to.  A wonderfully insightful experience”

Kate Hearn

“I had been feeling really stuck for a long time – despite feeling unhappy and dissatisfied with my job, I just couldn’t figure out what career path would suit me better. A friend recommended I reach out to Susie, and I’m so glad I did.

Working with Susie over a period of a few months, I developed a much deeper understanding of myself – my values, my unique strengths and passions, and my ideal job ‘non-negotiables’; more than that, I developed the tools for self-discovery and for imagining the possibilities of what could be. In the short-term, Susie enabled me to reframe how I think about aspects of my current work, and for the medium/long-term, helped me feel much better-equipped to make a change when the time is right.

Truly, every session with Susie was time well-spent. I feel like she ‘got’ me right away and asked brilliant questions that led to many ‘aha’ moments. Her approach is thoughtful, calming, and totally judgement-free, and I ended each session feeling more optimistic about what’s possible.”

“I had thought for some time that coaching may be beneficial, as I wanted to make some good decisions amongst a lot of turmoil, but I was scared of actually taking that step. I shouldn’t have been, Susie has been a delight to work with, very easy to talk to, making the process very clear, while working in a calm and purposeful manner.

She has led me to a place where I have more focus on my bigger picture and the tools to look beyond the background noise of everyday working life. I am really glad I made contact and am enjoying learning how to use the things I’ve discovered.”

Claire Crickett

“Before coaching with Susie I was at a very low point in my life and couldn’t get out of the rut I was in both personally and in my career. After my initial consultation with Susie she made me feel so at ease (as I didn’t think coaching would work for me), I knew from that point I would need to challenge myself and push myself to think more and find me. I have never met Susie but she makes me feel so comfortable and like a friend, when speaking it happens easily and I can explain how I feel and work through my own thoughts and challenges.

Since having coaching with Susie I have felt more in control of my life and emotions. We have spoken through every challenge I have faced since going through my divorce. I certainly wouldn’t have been as strong without Susie’s guidance. For anyone who is thinking of having a coach please do not hesitate like I did, it is worth investing your time in and having a platform where you are heard without even having to say how you really feel. I cannot thank Susie enough for pushing my boundaries and helping me find me!”

“I had often read about Life Coaches and was at a time in my life where I was going through the menopause, my eldest daughter had left home and I was in a job that no longer challenged me. Since that day that I made the initial telephone call to Susie, I have never looked back.

Having Susie as my Life Coach has been totally inspiring and she has helped me unlock my true potential.  She has never judged me but has given me ideas and how to look at things from a different perspective and reminds me that I always have a choice! I am continuing to grow into my better self day by day and I am now more focused, energised and aware of my values and aspirations.

Thank you Susie for your encouragement, help and undoubting inspiration.”

Alison Randall

“Prior to my coaching with Susie I was at a crossroads, but I wasn’t sure why. My eldest was looking at universities and my youngest was moving into the grunting stage of teens. I felt lucky, but I felt trapped. I was flat, demotivated and questioning if this was all life had to offer? I knew I had to take some control back of my life and try and fathom a way out of my rut.

Since working with Susie I’ve been able to clear my fog. I’m able to make decisions without dithering, I’m much more organised with my time (I see it as my most valuable resource now), I have a plan and that’s given me focus. I would say the most positive change I’ve noticed is I have become effective again and with that my energy levels have increased.

Being coached by Susie is like catching up with a friend (though we’ve never actually met, all our work was over the phone), but with a structure to keep me on track. When Susie talks to me my thoughts just seem to flow, I fix my own challenges just by answering a simple question posed by her. I am coming up with my own forward path and it seems so clear to me.

If you are considering working with Susie I would urge you to JDI (just do it!). I can’t fully explain what happens or how it happens – but it does and it has had a positive impact on my life and my future is now much clearer. As I look forward to the next stage in my life I feel no fear, I know I’m going to be OK – more than OK! My children moving into their next chapter is a point to celebrate not fear. It’s my time now.”

Linzi Brocklesby

“I have been coaching with Susie for the past 6 months and it has been a very insightful journey. My key area of focus was career, where she helped me to visualise more clearly what I wanted, build my confidence in what was possible and crystallise the next steps. I appreciate the fact that she has a very warm and caring style, yet she is not afraid to call me out when needed!

I had one particularly powerful experience of coaching with Susie which enabled me to shed some anxiety that had been holding me back for most of my life. I felt a massive sense of freedom after that coaching and it has had a lasting impact on me. I would highly recommend anyone to coach with Susie as I truly believe that you will benefit from her experience and the genuine care that she holds for her clients.”

Steve Aitken

“I started coaching sessions with Susie for two reasons. Having recently re-trained as a careers adviser I had touched on coaching in my professional training and wanted to experience it first-hand. The second reason was to address confidence issues about returning to the workplace after a long break and also some anxiety issues from childhood, which I recognised had held me back in my earlier career and which I was determined would not do so going forward!!

The experience has been liberating. Susie has helped me develop simple strategies, using imagery and visualisation, to use in situations that cause anxiety. I have a tendency to think negatively and she has helped me turn around the way I view situations, which has been transformative. I am excited to see how I have progressed in my work in the past few months, tackling challenges I really thought would be impossible.

Susie is highly intelligent, intuitive and a very good listener. The experience of being listened to exclusively is a very powerful one, particularly as I don’t always take myself seriously enough! She quickly identifies the main issues, allows a little time for reflection but at the same time always helps me find positive ways to make progress, so the session ends on a motivational note. I can highly recommend her and coaching as a way to move forward and overcome barriers.”

Liz Taylor

“I was inspired to work with Susie as, whilst I had a very clear vision of what I wanted to achieve, daily life repeatedly got in the way and I found myself prioritising chores rather than realising my dreams. The regular sessions gave me an hour to focus completely on myself and what was important to me and, with Susie’s guidance, to clear blocks that were preventing me from achieving this.

Coaching with Susie is interesting as whilst you might expect to have a linear path such as: “where am I now, where do I want to be and how do I get there?”, it’s much more subtle and actually the process is organic. Initially I found the sessions felt quite indulgent: spending time unravelling beliefs, and the focus was always on me rather than what I wanted to achieve, but the end result is that I was enabled to give myself permission to realise my dreams.”

Karen Jeffries

“Why didn’t I do this sooner! I am loving the journey I’m going on with Susie – she’s opening my eyes to discovering more about myself and the opportunities that would be most appropriate for me. I’m interrogating my values, strengths, motivations and so on… all with a view to creating a truly fulfilling career for myself”

Emma Ellins

“Susie’s coaching style balances gentle expansiveness with clear and insightful questions to really get to the heart of self-doubt. I now have a much clearer sense of what can hold me back, and an easily accessible inner compass to help me move forward. This is invaluable as I navigate my way through the challenges and opportunities of midlife!”

Caroline Storey

“After completing counselling for anxiety, I felt it was time to focus on myself, in particular self-confidence and career progression. When I started my coaching with Susie, I could barely list any of my strengths and was unhappy in my job, which made me feel unfulfilled.

Since having my sessions with Susie, I can now recognise my strengths and I feel empowered by them. I have found that coaching has been a great way to learn about myself, what is important to me and how to recognise the person I am. I have also been fortunate to have found a new job whilst I have been doing my coaching – the interview process enabled me to utilise my new-found confidence and the motivation that I have gained over the last few months.

Coaching has been the perfect next step for me and I have thoroughly enjoyed the process and results. I do find it hard to communicate over the phone, but Susie put me at ease immediately. She is warm and encouraging and really helps you to think about the coaching process and what you can get out of it.

I know that I am in a completely different place now to how I was at the start of my coaching and will take everything I have learnt and continue to build on it. Thank you to Susie for enabling me to rediscover my inner confidence – it was always there, I had just forgotten how to find it!”

Louise Scarterfield

“Initially I was apprehensive about life coaching, feeling it was self-indulgent and worried there would be lots of awkward silences. The reality was it offered me an insight into thoughts and pre-conceived ideas that were holding me back in life. As for awkward silences, they didn’t exist! This was thanks to Susie’s genial way of asking questions that helped me focus on and visualise areas of my life that I wanted to reawaken.

Since having coaching I have renewed respect for myself. I also have a clearer direction and have benefited from the tools Susie showed me to challenge the negative thoughts that creep into mind every now and then! I would highly recommend Susie if you were thinking about life coaching.”
